Wine Shipping Laws
Wine shipping laws in the United States are complicated.
Ever since Prohibition was repealed in 1933, individual states have made, maintained, and changed their own laws relating to alcohol consumption, sales and distribution. As a matter of fact, it wasn't until 1966 that all states had fully repealed those early Prohibition laws, with Mississippi the last state to do so. As a result, there are just about as many different state laws about alcohol sales and distribution as there are states. And to further complicate things, individual state's laws are changing all the time.

When you are shopping online for wine and/or wine related products, you will notice that not all states in the US can legally ship or be shipped wine.Buying wine online in California is easier than in many states. Wineries and wine clubs in California may legally ship outside of the state with the correct permit. The catch will be whether or not your state allows wine shipments to be received.
